About

Mission, vision and challenge

We think that precise localization and telehealth will be a crucial part of tomorrow´s IoT market. Our mission is to establish our leading edge products as the first choice for companies developing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Telehealth wearable electronics. Our single-chip solutions will allow to make smaller, more comfortable and affordable electronic devices to enable its wider penetration to our life.

ChipCraft Sp. z o.o. is the Warsaw University of Technology spin-off, which was established in 2016 to commercialize our research results and experience in the area of ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) for satellite navigation and health monitoring.

Our vision is that tomorrow IoT markets will be dominated by area and energy efficient embedded technology.

Our challenge is to make wearable technology user friendly and cost effective, which will enable its wider penetration to our life.

Team

We are a group of scientists and engineers from the Warsaw University of Technology. Our team was formed in 2009 and since then we have worked in number of research projects related to biomedical Systems-on-Chip (SoC), analog and mixed-signal designs, multicore application specific processors (including navigation processor) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems GNSS. With more than 70 man years of international industrial experience, the core team possesses unique skills in the areas of SoC chip design for wireless communication, medical applications, mobile processors and silicon manufacturing. We have practical knowledge in making silicon proven designs and chip products in wide range of technology nodes: 90 nm, 130 nm, 150 nm, 180 nm and 0.35 µm from many silicon foundries (AMS, LFoundry, GlobalFoundries, UMC, SMIC).

The examples of team´s members track records include silicon proven designs, industrial implemented:

  • NFC transceiver for first contact & contactless 16-bit RISC secure microprocessor for payPass (VISA, MasterCard) and for mobile phone vendors (BlackBerry, SAGEM, Nokia),
  • USB 2.0 PHY IP cores for international fabless and IDM companies in 130 nm and 180 nm CMOS technologies,
  • Dual-mode blocks of the integrated circuit GALILEO and GPS signal receiver in nanometer CMOS technology for precise positioning of mobile objects: prototypes were manufactured in 90 nm and 130 nm CMOS technologies,
  • System-on-Chip for measuring, acquiring and processing of health parameters,
  • First polish multi-core in-house developed 32 bits application and navigation processor – silicon proven,
  • 1 EU patent, 1 US patent, 1 PL patent, 12 copyrighted integrated circuits in Polish Patent Office,
  • Over 100 scientific and technical publications on international conferences and ISI Master Journal List.

Business model

ChipCraft Sp. z o.o. is a fabless semiconductor design company working in Business to Business (B2B) model. We design ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and outsource production to the Silicon Foundry. Our revenue comes from selling ICs (Integrated Circuits – chipsets) to the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer), who thanks to our solution gain competitive advantage and are able to offer better and more compact products to the customers. Using our chip gives the OEM a competitive advantage in greater functionality, smaller device size and lower power consumption (longer battery life). Additionally single-chip solution reduces number of components necessary and shortens development time of the device, resulting in faster time-to-market and lower cost.
